God Has Tears Too

In a bout of frustration with humanity of which I am a part I said to God, "I am looking forward to the Day of Judgment." Of course I was thinking of others and not about myself. His reply was, "I'm not," and upon having heard this I envisioned tears in His eyes.

I've had a hard time understanding why such a loving God would damn anyone to Hell, but the answer would come back that He has loved each of us enough to give us the power of choice––to choose life or death, cursing or blessing. That is still hard for me to wrap my mind around, but He has said His ways are higher than ours and so are His thoughts.

Another Photo Chance Granted

In the summer of 1981 I worked at Ponderosa Lodge in Glenwood Springs, Colorado as a maid, cleaning cabins. One day I took my Pentax K1000 35mm camera with me and was zooming in on a flower when I noticed through my viewfinder a Western Swallowtail fluttering over it. Unfortunately, I was too slow on the shutter button and missed a great photo opportunity as my subject fluttered away. I was so disappointed.

Surprisingly, in the summer of 2007 I was granted another such opportunity in the same town but on the property where I was living. I noticed the same kind of butterfly, but this time on some foliage. I ran to my townhome to get my camera and returned to find it still there. I got several shots of this fine critter. I felt so fulfilled. It was as though I was given another chance and successfully seized the opportunity.

The Miracle of the Red Coat Sweater

A while back I regretfully parted with a red and black coat sweater. I thought since I wasn't wearing it that I should give it up. Well I did and wished I hadn't.

Well, that was several months ago, and just recently the Lord asked me if I would like to have another one. My answer was of course "yes." So I had been on the lookout for one since.

Today that opportunity finally arrived and I found it in a solid red but of a darker shade than the one I had, and with no black in it. I bought it for 20% off on the Senior Sunday Discount. So I got it at a real bargain.

Thank you, Lord!
