New Swim OUtfit for a Special Occasion

Dreaming of transitioning back to Western Colorado where friends are family, I bought a couple items to celebrate the occasion when it becomes a reality.

One Sunday I stopped at a Ross store and found this swimsuit which I tried on. The size is a little bigger than what I normally wear. So I put it back.

Well, I couldn't get it out of my mind. So, on Tuesday, which is senior discount day at Ross stores, I returned to look for it. I first went to another store but couldn't find it there. Then, I returned to the other store and couldn't find it where I found it. Feeling brought down, I found a couple other items that I had seen the other day and bought those. I was relieved to find them. One was on clearance and the other didn't have a price tag. So I took my chances.

While in line to purchase them, I found the swimsuit hanging in the Q-line. Apparently, someone else who was in line to buy it had changed their mind. So I grabbed it.

I was so excited that I couldn't keep the joy to myself and told the young gal behind me in line. She rejoiced with me and asked if I had a special occasion for it. I told her I am hoping to return to Colorado soon and wear it at the Hot Springs Pool. She was pleased to hear it.

When I went to pay for everything, the cashier looked up the price on the short skirt which was missing a price tag and discovered it was also on clearance. I got a huge deal! Everything was 10% off because of the senior discount. It ended up being a happier day!

Then, I looked on Amazon at Sketchers because of an ad I got in the mail, to see if I could find a better deal on sneakers. It was the I saw these sandals. They were in my size and the only pair left. So I snatched them. I got them delivered to me on a Sunday which was a surprise to me.

But the thing that was so significant to me was the leading of the Holy Spirit through this process and how He reserved this outfit for me. I didn't get to the store to find the swimsuit until Tuesday afternoon and I was able to find it again. That in itself is a miracle!

Scored with Quinoa

My eating lifestyle has been undergoing some refinement. Quinoa is one of the better foods I can eat as it is gluten-free and highest in protein of all the grains.

So today some unexpected money arrived in the mail and I was suddenly being prompted to go to Trader Joe's to buy some Quinoa. I had ran out of my supply, but the other day I showed up at Trader Joe's to buy some they were all out. So I felt a little reluctant today about my chances of finding any.

Well, Hallelujah! I found it, and it happened to be the very last one! I was so elated I could have danced right there in the store. When I told one of the clerks she said, "You seem like you just won the Lotto!"

I told her it felt like it because I grabbed the only one left on the shelf. This time it's a package of Organic Tricolor which I never have had. So today it was a triple surprise! :-)

I first learned how to cook Quinoa during a visit to Trader Joe's when they were sampling a salad made with it at their demo booth. I was told to bring one part Quinoa to two parts water to a boil and then steep for ten minutes before adding any ingredients. A vegan classmate told me she uses vegetable broth instead of water to give it more flavor.

Then, I add chopped vegetables, olive oil and fresh-squeezed lemon with herbs. It's a yummy snack that can be eaten all day long.

The Miracle of the Red Coat Sweater

A while back I regretfully parted with a red and black coat sweater. I thought since I wasn't wearing it that I should give it up. Well I did and wished I hadn't.

Well, that was several months ago, and just recently the Lord asked me if I would like to have another one. My answer was of course "yes." So I had been on the lookout for one since.

Today that opportunity finally arrived and I found it in a solid red but of a darker shade than the one I had, and with no black in it. I bought it for 20% off on the Senior Sunday Discount. So I got it at a real bargain.

Thank you, Lord!
